Weezer formed in LA in 1992, playing their first gig as a support act for Keanu Reeves band Dogstar. Spike Jonze-directed Happy Days-influenced second single 'Buddy Holly' was their mainstream breakthrough, and a favourite of MTV.Follow-up album Pinkerton, released in 1996, remains their best and most critically-acclaimed work.
